During my lunch breaks, I like getting away from my desk and the office by heading down to Bourke St mall for some retail therapy. It’s even more satisfying when I find something I like! I bought the maxwell williams polka dot teapot last week at Myer (on sale for $8!!), and this week, I thought I might as well get the matching mugs (on sale for $10 for 4 mugs!!)

Sometimes I wonder about my life. I lead a small life. Well, valuable, but small. And sometimes I wonder, do I do it because I like it, or because I haven’t been brave? So much of what I see reminds me of something I read in a book, when shouldn’t it be the other way around?

I’m spending today (and tomorrow) at home, resting & recovering from yesterday’s wisdom teeth extraction surgery. My cheeks are swollen, but pain-wise, it hasn’t been too bad since this morning. My diet at the moment has consisted of lots of fluids, congee & pumpkin soup, but what I’m really craving is french fries and toast! (And looking at Empty Wrapper’s past couple of blog entries aren’t helping much to stave off my cravings!)

Today’s lunch at Bon Bon’s consisted of quiche & a chicken/avocado/semi-dried tomato focaccia. My mum waited (im)patiently while I took these photos, but drew the line when the scones came out later. She obviously doesn’t understand my need to document what I eat!

I am completely addicted to this mobile phone game called City Bloxx that’s found in some Nokia phones.
…And I don’t even own a Nokia phone!

I met up with my brother earlier this week during our lunch breaks to grab a quick bite at Choix Creperie - a simple & no-frills place hidden in a laneway off Collins St. Although not spectacular, I didn’t mind their chicken schnitzel sandwich & their parma crepes.

Rihanna’s ‘Umbrella’ is probably near the top of my list of most-annoying songs, but I think this acoustic version of it by Marie Digby just about redeems it!

All this time I’d been thinking that there was a public holiday for Anzac Day next month, when it turns out that since it falls on a Saturday this year, there won’t be a public holiday in lieu.
I feel like I’ve been gypped! :(

On one of the episodes of Privileged, Sage went and had a bag custom-made for Rose - a cheat bag which had all the multiple choice answers for her test on the front - it’s ingenious, not to mention cute! (Although I don’t remember to have ever been allowed to put my bag so blatantly on the table during any exams…)

It took me almost 2 hours to get home this afternoon, and over an hour to get to work this morning, thanks to the ever-unreliable public transport!
Being mushed alongside large, sweating people in a train carriage that’s bursting at the seams because of train cancelations “due to the heat” makes me even more grumpy! I’m so glad to be at home again…
A comparison of Melb’s public transport system vs. other cities.

My latest guilty pleasure is The City. I’ve never watched The Hills and I don’t like reality tv shows, but 2 episodes in, I’m hooked. Maybe because it’s set in one of my most favourite cities! :)
Is it just me or does the Aussie Jay guy bear a strong resemblance to Adrien Grienier? (And Olivia just reminds me of Blair Waldorf)

My aunty is visiting from Taiwan, and she has brought over beautifully-packaged boxes of mouthwatering cakes and pastries - I can feel my waistline expanding already just thinking about these! My all-time favourites have always been these pineapple cakes.

I think my aunty will always see me as a 13 year old :)
